Brotherhood is the most fundamental aspect of fraternity life. It is the common strand that intertwines every ΣAE member, drawing us together by shared goals and experiences. Through this special kind of friendship, every SAE makes a commitment to something outside himself, a commitment to people, to friends. ΣAE is like a family, and like a family, brothers of ΣAE honestly care for each other. In ΣAE, the friendships you gain and cultivate will flourish for life. With such strong brotherhood as a springboard, you can become a better leader, a better citizen and a True Gentleman.
ΣAE is the largest national social fraternity, with over 282,000 initiated members since our founding in 1856. Kansas Alpha has a great alumni base, and membership means rubbing shoulders with important, successful people. It is well known that fraternity members enjoy a much higher involvement in campus and community life than non-fraternity members. There is a reason that Greeks hold 80% of the upper-level executive positions in the "Fortune 500 Companies;" it is because of their experiences in chapter offices that they are better qualified in working with people and delegating authority. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledge program is designed to help nurture and develop leadership in all of our potential members. Annually ΣAE hosts a national leadership school, the first and biggest in the nation, which is held on Carnival Cruise Line’s “Imagination” cruise ship. The reason why we all go to college is to get good grades. At ΣAE we offer free tutors in any subject. Academics are placed very high on the priority list when you are a pledge of our fraternity, and with mandatory study hours, every new member has a chance to succeed and strive for excellence.
